hello all... a note to those of you who read the blog, are google users, but don't have blogger: i have just made it possible for you to comment too...=] anywho, i spent most of the week in the bed, missed 4 days of work and therefore skipped every blogging opportunity. lots happened this week... i've had many blog-worthy thoughts... i'll try to summarize my week the best i can, "snippets..." style.
i'm done with friendship... that might sound harsh, but i think i am. in the span of a week, i've deleted both my myspace and facebook. i deemed the latter semi useful when i needed it to get someone's contact info. in order for my brain to accept that i was going to continue to indulge in this "social networking tool," i cut my friends list down from around 276 to 93. i'm no longer interested in friendship. i thought i had real friends but we're not on the same page. i let the belief that i had all the friends i need keep everyone else at arm's distance. i got complacent and used these friends i already had as an excuse not to do new things with new people. i stunted my own growth by keeping up and investing in the growth of others. ugh.
school started for me on thursday. i have a book editing class... a class called "debate, dissent, and dialogue" created because presidential debates are going to be held at belmont in october... spanish... and a british literature class... i thought book editing might be interesting, but... it really is just a class about books, how they're edited, why they're edited, etc... d,d, and d might be interesting. can't tell too much from the first class. spanish was good. i haven't been to lit yet, but i'm not too excited right now. i am happy to be in school. i forgot how much i enjoy engaging with people who want to do what i want to do... on some grand level.
on 2 separate occasions [once while watching trading spouses with james and then again while thinking about the reasons i got in trouble when i was little] i started thinking about the sense of normalcy we feel for our own experience... stay tuned for a blog about that.
the united states is screwed. doing my usual internet rounds, i have decided that it doesn't really matter who i vote for. this is not to say i'm not going to vote. i feel a sense of civic duty but please don't ask me why. i don't have a good answer. and i'm not sure i believe the reasons i used have. you've got gustav about to kick the shit out of gulf coast cities 3 years after katrina. you wanna know the really messed up part? there are people who still haven't received the help they were supposed to get from FEMA. after 3 years. mccain picked a female running mate. so you mean to tell me that he sits and attacks barack for lack of experience then he goes and picks a woman who has been governor of alaska (are there even any people there?) for 2 years. before that she was like a councilwoman and a mayor in alaska. where's her experiece? this political strategy that tells me mccain doesn't give a fuck about what's good and right; he wants to win. what the fuck, dude?
there's something wrong with this... not just the story and the pictures but is you scroll down and read the comments... there are an overwhelming number of comments that say things like, "LMAO! THAT’S WHAT THIS BITCH GETS!" and "Damn she does look like Crackhouse & a Tranny all in one, not attractive, so from her looks, I dont blame dude for callin his goons for her..lmao…and ol’ girl is being a lil too damn dramatic in those pics…its a busted lip…" and "Let this be a lesson to all the hoodrats and golddiggers..you think you found a rich man of your dreams and you find yourself getting YO ASS WHUPPED!" and perhaps the worse... "Now thats a hoodhos just deserts. Dont be kultivatin a niggas sperm without permission. The hoodho shoulda asked my nigga if it was ok to go off the pill insteada havin go up in her rawdog thinkin she protectid. Dishonest golddiggin hoodho. Cant trust em." and then you have this stupidity, "If she had thought about a lot of things in life as a REAL WMOAN, then maybe she wouldn’t have to worry about trapping a man. Because he would have respected her as a REAL WOMAN and he wouldn’t have gotten another chick to replace her. Which wouldn’t have lead to this point of her being pregnant at the club trying to reclaim what is not hers(the NFL player) and the cousin would have never hit her. END OF STORY. It’s very evident she’s digging for gold because the freaking NFL player didn’t hit her, so why is she sueing him instead of the ignorant fool that knocked her out." WHAT THE FUCK, DUDE??? i have the feeling this is going to be another post entirely... stay tuned...
i think you have enough snippets. but the final, and perhaps most important for right now, one is that i hate my job. it's getting to be like... everything about it. i don't even smile when i walk in this bitch. i almost can't. i'm miserable here. mama says that i'm not going to find a job that wil give me the schedule/money i want especially since i've been here a year and ever-positive james says i need to make the best of it while i'm here and come up with an exit strategy. i don't know what i'mma do... keep blogging, i guess... =]
