you think i'm playing... but he is... i just got finished watching the democratic debate [and subsequent chit chat about it...] on cnn which anderson moderated... i've loved anderson for a long time... buuuut... now? it's OFFICIAL... lol. first, my take on the candidates:
john edwards... i'm not a huge fan... the gay marriage thing.... eh... and he had a hard time answering the questions at hand. and he was very defensive. real shady biz if you ask me... obviously... not getting my vote.
hilary clinton... i'll pass. not because of anything she said wrong... in fact, she said a lot of good, correct things... i'm just not feeling her... it may be slightly wrong to say, but i'm not ready for a female president... i'm just not. i think it stems from my small dislike of lesbians... or maybe just loud, obnoxious, fat lesbians like rosie o'donnell...
joe biden... is he a rapper? [lol... i'm kidding... but really... where is joe budden?] i think dude is funny... but i wouldn't vote for him... when that guy called his gun his "baby" and biden was like "if that's his baby he needs help" i was like... yeah... exactly... but... alas... he doesn't have my vote...
chris dodd, bill richardson, that kucinich guy, and the dude on the end who didn't get the airtime [mike gravel is it? i did pay attention but he really didn't say nothing! he's from alaska!] none of them have my vote... none of them said anything noteworthy to me. the kunicich guy said he was for reparations which made me roll my eyes and call him a loser, i can respect richardson's concession to do what's "acheivable" when it comes to gay marriage instead of making outrageous promises, and dude from alaska had me laughing anytime he'd speak because he was mad that he wasn't getting any questions, but other than THAT.... uh... dodd, richardson, kucinich, and gravel who?
barack obama OBVIOUSLY has my vote... it says more to me and for me to have a BLACK president instead of a FEMALE one... i remember when i was young and i told my grandmother i wanted to be president. she didn't tell me i couldn't because i was a woman. she said "they'd assassinate you because you're black..." imagine that... how far we've come. i would CRY if obama won... as far as this debate goes, he did alright... EXCEPT he said that he believes in the "core decency" of america.... nah...fuck that. as a black man he must realize that "core decency of america" is an oxymoron. but i'll let him slide... he is a politician and he has to be even and not militant... i LOVE what he said about reparations... that by "committing to repair the descrepency in our schools" we could close the race barriers and therefore don't really need reparations. i love it. i also love that he pointed out that them iraqis are on summer break because its hot and our troops are still over there in that heat with no relief...
other notes:
hurricane katrina... one of the questions asked the candidates to comment on whether they believed FEMA would have acted quicker/better if a white area had been hit... [though we focus on new orleans, what about biloxi?] anyway... everyone basically said it would be different for whites... most outstanding to me in that exchange was when richardson said that he would let the people who live there comeback first... that is so major and so necessary... [but i still ain't voting for him! lol]
women's rights.... john edwards said that he's a better rep for women's rights than hilary clinton... wtf was he thinking... he said he has the "big ideas." hilary was polite and illustrated her women's right record ["women's rights are human rights"] and said everything short of "nigga, i AM a woman!" again... edwards is pretty shady looking to me... i don't care if he is a democrat... something about him ain't right and to say he could rep us better than we rep ourselves is as preposturous as when the black republican said that we hold bill clinton in a higher esteem than obama for the same reason [he reps us better than we rep ourselves] PLEASE don't get me started on the black republican, though...
ANDERSON COOPER is gangsta... he was stern... he was hard... "just answer the question, please!" "time! Time! TIME!" he was doing everything i would do and all i can say to that is GOOD! overall... i loved this debate... it's format was much better than other debates i've watched. i WILL be watching the republican debate that will have the same format... and if anderson is moderating that one, too... i'm actually looking forward to it... =]
p.s. best video all night: singing taxpayer... i felt like i could've written that myself! lol
